Van Hoevenberg, Vera edged out her closest competitor, Rose Van Doorn, in a thrilling sprint finish. This victory, her second of the season, secured her the UCI XCM WORLD CUP MT VAN HOEVENBERG - LAKE PLACID: WOMEN ELITE. Winning this title was no easy feat; it required immense physical strength, mental resilience, and tactical precision.

Vera’s success was built on a consistent and powerful performance throughout the 2024 season. Earlier in the year, she claimed her first XCM World Cup win at Nové Město na Moravě in Czechia, which set her on course for the overall title.
